Making a beautiful water garden or pond area around the house or business can be challenging and, in some cases, expensive but will be worth it the end. Water Gardens and ponds increase the value of the property and create a beautiful area. Building a water garden is quite a challenge, but first is determining the area desired form of the water garden. Some water gardens can be made with preformed water garden molds made from sturdy plastic. More variable ponds with more diversification pond liners can be used, this thick plastic, rubber sheet can conform to the shape of the pond hole and make a unique one of a kind pond design. For extensive ponds, neither of these methods work, and instead, a hole must be dug and filled with water. Water gardens can be filled with many different types of water plants and plants that live in moist soils. Lilies, red cardinal flower, pickerelweed, and river cane are lovely plants that be grown in the water. While Blue crested Iris, river cane, bamboo, grasses, and sedges can be developed around the water garden adding a leafy green appearance for the area, the water can be stocked with animals too to add life to the mix. Fish, such as goldfish and koi, are commonly added to water gardens to add color. These animals need little maintenance, only food, and a pump to keep oxygen in the water. Other animals, such as frogs, snails, and crawfish, can be added to a more natural atmosphere. Waterfalls, driftwood, and rocks can also be added to the mix to help with creating a natural appearance. Using a water garden around the house is an excellent choice adding a tranquil place of beauty to the area.
